Hey Frenchie Gals

Sue & H
Response: Scallops are called St Jacques in France, I totally love them too. I don't eat any meat, only fish, so have devoured my fair share of the ocean's St Jacques.
Miss you Sue, and H. Can't wait to see you soon.

Dogs are happy, they aren't over fed, don't worry....
Michelle is going to take us on an Eco cruise on next Monday :)
It's freezy here....
Looking forward to see you soon.
Love from Dad & Del
Response: Hi Dad and Del
Thinking of you both a lot, especially when learning the French history and battles etc, Dad. Saw Napoleon's tomb in Les Invalides, an incredible building built for a king (Louis the somethingth) who wanted his own entrance built to the barracks of the troops which are behind Les Invalides. It is a domed building gilded with the brightest gold, if you catch the smallest glimpse you are so dazzled by the magnificience. I even bought you a bottle of Napoleon's aftershave, 'Essence de Napoleon'. Collected from the actual perspiration from his armpits when in Egypt shooting noses off Sphynxes. No, not really, when he was taken captive to St Helena Island, he asked for his favourite cologne to be brought to him. The bottle I bought is made from the same ingredients used to create his own preferred scent.
Love you both, see you soon,
Sam

Oh I am eating and drinking France out of business. The bike, what bike? We arrived back in Paris and are unable to use the local bikes, they only accept French credit cards. Now in Singapore, ready to come home and back to a strict regimine of chocoloate and cycling.

Hi Sam
Comment allez-vous? Are you sure this was a cycling holiday, and not simply an excuse to visit every fine cafe, patisserie and boulogerie in France? (Sam please check my French spelling) And by the sounds of it your French is coming on so well, you can write all the new French foreign language pages on our website. Au revoir. Andrew
Response: Ahh, Bon jour Andrew. Ce serait mon plaisir d'écrire dans le français.
(It would be my pleasure to write in French). Love this country, the history is mind boggling. Have to admit, but don't tell anyone, that I am missing home and possibly even work just a little bit.
Égards les plus gentils, (kindest regards)

Hey there S and S,
Love the blog. Am I turning green?? All the towns you mention around the Dordogne are places that Cathy and I are familiar with as we spent three summers in a row there. It is sooo nice. Perhaps a bit hilly by memory though! We used to cycle from le Buge up a big hill to where we were camping with our supplies every day. Beer and vin rouge are heavy.
I have only just tuned into the blog as I lost the link to it. I cant wait to read the rest. We must all get together to share your experiences and photos when you get back. I got back on the bike for the first time since Noosa this week. My knees have only just recovered!
Take care and make the most of it (sounds like you already are),
J and C (John and Cathy)
Response: Hi John and Cathy
Oui, vin et pain et fromage et vin et baguette et vin et dessert et vin es tres grande...
and the hills are very hilly.
We loved Loire Valley, loved Dordogne and starting to love Provence. Three completely different types of wine!!!
Miss you guys,

PS. Pleased to hear someone will be interested in our 7392 (so far) photos.

bonjour mes amies does that mean my friends?
are you going to change jobs Sam and become the travel journalist extraordinaire. Your stories are so colourful and beautifully written I can just about imagine it all, including all the funny bits!! Really makes me want to follow in your cycle tracks, maybe one day let's hope. Have you manage to put on any weight or have you lost it with all that cycling esp up hill! I think when you guys get back we should return to Restaurant Hill (not after so many ks) and see if we can get to the top
Suppose now you are so fit and prepared that you are waiting to join the tour later this week
Bon chance
ciao
Julie
Response: Oh Julie, we have had to purchase larger sizes. Picture this - Tweedledum and Tweedledee in tight lycra. Not a good look. We almost bought out an entire chocolate shop yesterday, and even worse, ate our entire purchase in one sitting.
Fit? Non... fat!!!
Restaurant Hill sounds good though, is there fois gras and wine at the top?
Miss you heaps, lots of lurve

From Keith et al (I know,
Okay, okay, I've read but not commented until now, Suzanne, but I couldn't resist when Sam wrote ... "We felt rather inappropriately dressed in our lycra"
Tell, me - why does it feel inappropriate in Rocamadour and not Brisbane? Sounds like quite a double standard to me ... but what would I know?
Hi from all left behind in Coorparoo, we're missing you. By the way, did the funny, awkard shoes feel inappropriate?
Response: Keith, with all the appreciative glances and wolf whistles we receive, we've decided to be inappropriate everywhere!!!
From julie z

Hi Frenchie Gals
Sounds like you both are having a blast. I would love to be there too. I too own a bike and am learning the freedom of riding but no where near as much as you. All the same I now understand the addiction.
I love the Blog and look forward to reading more.

Response: Ahhh, bonjour soeur Sue!!! Long time no chat. Miss you and H heaps, when are you coming back to Oz and if you do, leave the American accent behind. I, on the other hand, want to bring the French accent home with me. We are trying really hard to speak French and avoid the places that have English spoken. Miss you Sue, lots of love.

Hello girls,
How exciting you are there! I hope you are taking lots of photos of yourselves & make sure you include those profile shots (very French I hear).
Bella & Avalon were good girls for me that afternoon, I was not much fun & Maya was asleep for most of their visit. However, Avalon & I made a hedgehog (she was very helpful with crumbling the biscuits). I put Bella on the computer, so she stayed there for most of the visit.
I'm looking forward to reading about the start of your "French Wench" bike tour.
Love Clea X
Response: Merci Beaucoup Wench. Oui, la belle fille are tres bon most of the time. Miss you and hope all is smooth going for you these next few weeks.
