Snowy trip to Dunedin

well we missed the plane, but we had a hell of a road trip! And we got the plane the next day so what's the problem?

There was a light dusting of snow at Gore which I was mighty impressed with. Even the trout had snow on it. Little did I know that it would get much much worse! dum da dum...!

The snow on us has fallen since walking from the car behind us. Big thick clumps of it. Awesome!

Little did I know that it would get heaps deeper. This is Clinton pub with Julie walking in. The road was closed here and on the news that night they showed shots of the pub and the queue that we were in. Had we not escaped that is...

So we got out of the queue and made our way up to Julies folk's farm. Snow was pretty deep at this point. It looks dark but only because the snow is so thick coming down. It's about midday in this shot

I'm stopping every ten seconds on state highway 1 to take photos and play around just because I can, and we may never get this opportunity again..

Julie reckons you can't stop the car in the middle of State Highway 1 to take a photo. Obviously wrong. So we missed the plane... but who cares, what a trip!
