Around the Aero Club

A few fotos to give you some idea of where I'm living, unfortunately I haven't got any of inside my new place, will try to remember to take some soon..

9 Oct 2007, 10:36PM

This is the shot from my classroom window. On this day the airforce training planes came in, these are the yellow ones. Took off three at a time in formation down the runway, pretty cool. In the distance is the Jetranger of SouthWest (the company I fly with).

9 Oct 2007, 3:50AM

I quite like this. Simon Wilson parking only. haha. Ok, it might have been written to mean Southern Wings parking only, but to me it will always read Simon Wilson..

12 Sep 2007, 11:02PM

Me with my lovely lovely Bose Active X headset.

12 Sep 2007, 11:02PM

The JR. (Jet Ranger) in the hanger. The door to the left was my old bedroom. A bit basic, but did the job.

19 Oct 2007, 9:58PM

Like my new jumper?

19 Oct 2007, 9:57PM

The day the private 727 AND eurocopter came in! In the distance for scale is a 737 taxiing for takeoff.

19 Oct 2007, 9:59PM

Arty shot of the Fenestron tail rotor on the eurocopter through to the very cool 727 which I had a tour through..

25 Sep 2007, 5:57AM

Ok.. so... main airport is the 'carparky' looking thing to the left. My old hanger is the most left of the semicircular buildings. My new home is the square building to the right of the semicircular bldgs.

25 Sep 2007, 5:57AM

Back of the 172 looking backwards as Julie pulls a few turns.

25 Sep 2007, 5:57AM

The back of the Cessna 172, Julie is flying, this is her friend Janette and I having a very nice scenic flight.

25 Sep 2007, 6:01AM

Nice light from about 1000ft.

25 Sep 2007, 5:58AM

Suburb of Otatara and the lagoon beyond. Far in the distance is bluff which is the most southern points in NZ. Acutally, apart from Antartica it's one of the most southern points on Earth... Amazing that planes still work down here eh? ;-)
