Arrived in Venice and were amazed it could live up to one thousand years of hype.
Was great to catch up with Mum and Dad. We promised we wouldn't exploit their image on the net...
Excitement wore off when we walked for an hour in the wrong direction to find our hotel...

We were very kindly shouted a gondola ride down beautiful canals, a perfect way to see Venice.

Two hours west we spent a couple of days in Verona. Much quieter and just lovely.
The main square where we joined the "fare la passegiatta". Which basically means walking four abreast slowly and talking at a million miles an hour. New York this ain't.
Verona's Roman Arena. Unfortunately no opera (Remove Un from this sentence if your name is Brendan).
