Minapin Guest house. Just like grandmas place.
It was grey weather in Minapin, but we decided to trek to basecamp and hope that the weather would clear
The boys playing cricket
The half way point looking back down towards Minapin village
Just around the corner we find a porters tent and so take advantage of the offer for some tea to escape the rain
Arriving at base camp we find the view is still quite spectacular
We set up camp and consume copious amounts of tea for the next two days waiting for the clouds to clear in hope of seeing Rakaposki peak
The next day blue skies come and go
The day after the cloud begins to lift
And distant peaks show themselves through the cloud
Alas we have to head down the mountain and be content with distant views
Back in the village Pete lurks suspiciously by the herb garden just as the farmer departs on his tractor
