Stunning views from Delphi today, and a great site to explore. The museum and the archaeological site were busy with lots of tour groups but we saw amazing things and learned a great deal from George. The site has had lots of different purposes over time and even different uses within the site. At the museum two partiuclar highlights were the sphynx and the charioteer - the photos are fabulous but just don't do them justice. We hope you'll get some idea of what we saw anyway. At the site today George challenged the girls to tranlate some ancient greek, Zoe stepped up to the challenge and did a great job with only minimal guidance from George. Some of the girls who have had issues with timekeeping in the last few days managed to make it on time to the bus after this visit which was a big highlight for them (and us too!).
The long bus journey today was put to good use with many of us taking the chance to catch up on a bit of sleep. George and Paris found it all a bit quiet and were happy to hear awake voices again after the lunch break.
We have another great hotel here in Kalambaka and dinner has again rated as a highlight, especially the soup. Some other highlights today include exploring new towns - and tonight Louisa, Kestin and Rachel managed to get a ride back on our bus to the hotel instead of walking!! The girls have found themselves on the end of a few interesting looks while walking in town but have always been keeping themselves safe and are enjoying their opportunities to explore.
Girls are a bit tired today as we have been on the go non stop, so we are trying to get an early night tonight. Everyone is making the most of the opportunities this trip presents and we are all learning so much.
