A little over a week to go till departure, so I thought I would pop up the itinerary for the entire trip to get you excited :) I know I am!!!

Thur 5 Apr Depart Wellington
Depart Wellington for Athens via Auckland and Singapore

Day 1 Fri 6 Apr Arrive Athens
Panoramic city tour, including: a visit to National Archaeological Museum and a stop at the Panathenaic Stadium.

Day 2 Sat 7 Apr Athens
Depart for a full day tour, visit the Acropolis to see the architectural masterpieces of the Golden Age of Athens; the Propylaea, the Temple of Athena Nike, the Erechtheion and the Parthenon. From there we will proceed on foot to the Temple of Hephaistos, Ancient Agora and Keramikos.
Then visit the New Acropolis Museum.


Day 3 Sun 8 Apr Athens / Tolo
Depart by the coastal road along the Saronic Gulf for a short stop at the Corinth Canal. Continue on to Mycenae to visit the Archaeological site and the Tomb of Agamemnon. Proceed to Nafplion for a short visit to Palamidi Castle and then to the Theatre of Epidaurus.

Day 4 Mon 9 Apr Tolo / Olympia
Depart for Sparta, on arrival visit the Olive Oil Museum before continuing for a visit to Mystras.
Proceed to Olympia.

Day 5 Tue 10 Apr Olympia / Arachova
Morning visit to the Archaeological Site including the Sanctuary of
Olympian Zeus, the Ancient Stadium and the Archaeological Museum.

Day 6 Wed 11 Apr Arachova / Kalambaka
Visit the Archaeological Site and the Museum of Delphi. Then depart for Kalambaka, a small town situated at the foot of the astonishing complex of Meteora.

Day 7 Thu 12 Apr Kalambaka /Heraklion
Morning visit to the monasteries of Meteora perched on top of huge rocks which seem to be suspended in mid-air.
Return to Athens via Trikala, Lamia and Thermopylae.
Proceed to Piraeus Port to embark the 9.00pm ferry for Heraklion.

Day 8 Fri 13 Apr Heraklion
Morning arrival and depart on full day tour.
Visit Zaros, a local village, with free time to explore.
Continue to Matala Beach for free time and to explore the caves.
Attend Church Service for Good Friday.

Day 9 Sat 14 Apr Heraklion
Half day guided tour of Heraklion Archaeological Museum to see the Treasures of the Minoan civilization.
Panoramic tour of the city before visiting the Palace of Knossos.

Day 10 Sun 15 Apr Heraklion / Rome
Depart Heraklion for Rome via Athens
HERAKLION TO ATHENS 0900 0955
ATHENS TO ROME 1310 1415

Day 11 Mon 16 Apr Rome
Imperial Rome Tour including Colosseum.
Visit school Scuola Maria Ausiliatrice from 11:30 till 2pm
Continue on tour to Roman Forum and Palatine Hill.

Day 12 Tue 17 Apr Rome
Full day guided excursion to Hadrian’s Villa inTrivoli and Ostia.

Day 13 Wed 18 Apr Rome
VERY Early departure for full day excursion to Naples and Pompeii Morning visit to Pompeii ruins and Naples Archaeological Museum.

Day 14 Thu 19 Apr Rome
Full day guided tour featuring Capitoline Museum, Trevi Fountain and the Pantheon, the Vatican Museums with Sistine Chapel, and St. Peter's Basilica.

Fri 20 Apr – Sun 22 Apr Depart Rome
Depart Rome for Wellington via Singapore and overnight in Auckland
