Happy St Patricks Day!!
Started the day sunbathing while waiting for niamh to get up. We were going to go into the waterfront to see the match but as i didn't really want ot see all 3 i said i would go abseiling down table mountain. i called them early in the am, but i couldn't get through, so i left a message. Niamh was a little late getting up, and then was in a tad of a rush to get into the match, needless to say she said that the match was too important for me to check out the abseiling in person. so that was that. we had a bit of an argument about it... unfortunately we are having a few lately which is not good. Anyway to cut a long story short we went into a few pubs until Niamh was happy with the atmosphere for the match. She is sports mad.Having tried a few, we ended up in Mitchels in the Waterfront. we watched it and it was ok, not the best place to watch it, but unfortunately there isn't a great following of the 6 nations over here. We met a lovely couple who worked for AerLingus and were over for the week and heading back the next day. We spent the day with them. I went off after the 2nd match to make a few calls etc and get a few things in the shops. Came back to find them all in the pub still!! Unfortunately Niamh being sports mad and being St Paddys day had decided a few days previous that i was driving home. so i was on the coke, which as you know, didn't really bother me all that much, but when advantage is taken........ After the pub had died down we went to another next door. I had my Ireland shirt on, so withing a few mins i got a tap on the shoulder... are you irish?!?! Niamh was fairly sloshed at this point so i got chattin to the tap on the shoulder guy, who turned out to be from Sandycove in Dublin. He was telling me about his trip, him self and his mate are shipping there Land cruiser over, and then driving back to ireland from Capetown... imagine. Taking 7 months!! I got his number so i hope we will all meet up soon. niamh wasn't too impressed with them!! we headed home, it is about a 30min drive, which i have to say is the only downfall to our location.
