Alexis' Euro Trip

Hi everybody! Welcome to my travel journal! This is where you'll be able to keep track of what I'm doing and see where I'm at.

So this is the plan:

Sept. 3rd: Fly to Paris
Sept. 4th-8th: Grasse (visit Nonna), Nice, St. Tropez, Monaco
Sept. 9th-15th: Villa Castelli, Italy (village where my family is from)
Sept. 16th-19th: Positano, Italy (Amalfi Coast)
Sept. 20th-22nd: Rome
Sept. 23rd-26th: Cortona, Italy (Tuscany)
Sept. 27th-30th: Bellagio, Lake Como
Oct. 1st-4th: Madrid, Spain (including VIP tickets to Real Madrid game to see my beautiful David Beckham......well and Figo, Raul, Ronaldo & Zidane)
Oct. 5th: Back to France - Beaches of Normandy, U.S. WWII Memorial
Oct. 6th: Mont St. Michel
Oct. 7th: Paris
Oct. 8th: Fly home

Grasse, France

Grasse is the first place we visited on our trip. My Grandmother lives there, so naturally we came to see her first. Grasse is a decent sized town, but it still has a medevil village feeling to it. Most of the buildings in Grasse are 400 to 500 years old, so the setup of the town is exactly how it was back then.

 

St. Tropez & Port Grimaud

So here we are in St. Tropez - I just HAD to go - my Grandma only lives an 1 1/2 hour away and I was certain we'd see a celebrity there. Alas, not one was to be found - instead we got stuck in the worst rain storm I have ever been in - 2 hours worth. I went to St. Tropez with my mother Bruna, sister Olivia, aunt Virginia and uncle Cosimo. On our way back to Nice/Grasse we stopped in Port Grimaud. Port Grimaud is built just like Venice, but with all the colors of Provence - beautiful, charming little village. You could take boat rides down the canals if you wanted - but of course, once we got there it started raining again - we decided we'd had enough of the rain and just headed back to Nice - it wasn't what I had in mind for our day in St. Tropez, but I was still glad I had the chance to go!
